KONE Corporation hosts a Capital Markets Day today, September 28, in Helsinki

KONE organizes a Capital Markets Day for institutional investors and analysts
today in Helsinki. The aim of the event is to provide an update on KONE's
progress in its strategy execution and the key focus areas going forward. Both
strategic and financial targets as well as the business outlook for 2016 remain
unchanged.

President and CEO Henrik Ehrnrooth:

"KONE's performance has continued to be strong on a broad basis. We have showed
clear progress in our strategic targets, and our profitable growth continued in
the first half of 2016.

Looking ahead, we remain in a long-term growth industry. The market dynamics
continue to change, and we expect growth to stem more from services. In new
equipment, markets continue to grow except for the sizeable Chinese market.
Towards the beginning of next year, we expect the decline in the Chinese market
measured in units to moderate; competition will remain intense. The long-term
drivers in China remain solid.

In the rapidly digitalizing world, winners will be those who are able to collect
and utilize data in a way that creates the most value for customers. KONE's
innovation is fully centered around the needs of our customers and users. We
will be investing more than ever in technology and in developing our processes
to create a differentiated experience for the users and value for our customers.
To enable this we will connect over 1 million additional elevators and
escalators to the cloud during the next four years. KONE's competitiveness is
strong and we expect to deliver results also in the changing operating
environment."
