Sanoma initiates CEO transition

Sanoma today announced that Harri-Pekka Kaukonen will step down as Chief
Executive Officer effective immediately. Sanoma's Board of Directors has named
Chief Financial Officer Kim Ignatius to serve as interim CEO. "Harri-Pekka has been a strong leader since joining the company in 2011 and one
who has managed Sanoma through challenging times and rapid market transition,"
said Antti Herlin, Chairman of the Board. "His departure is by mutual agreement
and the Board is grateful for his valuable contribution to the company. The
changes made during Harri-Pekka's tenure have built a solid foundation for
Sanoma's future. Our priority now is to identify a leader who can leverage our
company's assets and leadership team to drive the next stage of Sanoma's
transformation.” "I would like to thank all of Sanoma's employees for their hard work during my
tenure as CEO," added Harri-Pekka Kaukonen. “I feel privileged to have led this
company and am very proud of everything we've accomplished.” 

Harri-Pekka Kaukonen joined Sanoma as CEO in January 2011 from Fazer Group.
Prior to that he worked for McKinsey & Company.
