2012-03-08 11:13:07 CET 2012-03-08 11:14:07 CET REGULATED INFORMATION Lietuvos energija, AB - Notification on material eventDepartment of Hydroelectric Power Plant is under formation by Lietuvos energija, ABElektrėnai, Lithuania, 2012-03-08 11:13 CET (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In order to optimise the activities of the generation section, the Board of Lietuvos energija, AB decided by the 1st of April 2012 to establish a division of the Company - Department of Hydroelectric Power Plants, which will merge the departments of Kruonis PSHP and Kaunas HPP (hereinafter referred to as KPSHP and KHPP, respectively) into one body. In the end of this February, a study on merger of KPSHP and KHPP into one structural unit was conducted, during which strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the merger were analysed. The study showed the merger of KPSHP and KHPP into one structural unit to be useful and efficient because of the following reasons: -- faster implementation of good practice, more efficient exchange of experiences at the managerial level of the power plants; -- implementation of a single policy in certain fields (information technologies, maintenance of buildings and facilities, environmental protection). -- better application of labour resources and qualification after merging units performing the same functions (buildings maintenance, maintenance of automation control systems, environmental protection, technical planning). -- in case of emergency caused by climatic, hydrological conditions, major interruption in energy system, etc., more efficient use of staff of the right qualification becomes possible. The planned merger will not result in reduction of the number of employees. All employees of KPSHP and KHPP will retain their jobs in the Company. Expected benefits of the merger are associated not with the number of employees but rather with more efficient work processes and distribution of functions.
