SUOMINEN FLEXIBLES BEGINS CODETERMINATION NEGOTIATIONS CONCERNING TEMPORARY
LAY-OFFS AT THE TAMPERE PLANT 

Due to the general market situation, and on the basis of estimates from
customers, the demand for products of Suominen Flexible Packaging Ltd. is
estimated to be low during the next six months. Therefore, Suominen Flexible
Packaging Ltd. will initiate codetermination negotiations concerning potential
temporary lay-offs that involve approximately 170 people at the Tampere plant.
The intention is to implement the potential lay-offs, estimated to total 40
days per person, in short periods during the next six months. 

Suominen Flexible Packaging Ltd. is a part of Suominen Group. The company
operates in Tampere and produces packaging for hygiene and food applications,
and retail sector.
