The Housing Financing Fund establishes a rental company.

Today, the Board of Directors at the Housing Financing Fund (HFF) decided to establish a residential real estate rental company. The rental company will assume ownership and operation of the real estate owned by the HFF all over Iceland. The majority of the real estate are already occupied by tenants.
The newly established rental company has been named Leigufélagið Bríet Ltd. and will be owned by the Hosing Financing Fund. The rental company will overtake all existing rental contracts so that tenants are not affected by this change.

The main objective of Leigufélagið Bríet Ltd. is long-term rental of residential housing outside of Reykjavík and its surroundings and it will be seeking cooperation with the local authorities for this purpose. The company’s formal takeover of HFF’s real estate and operations will begin as soon as the final preparation work is completed.
