THE YEAR IS OFF WITH GROWTH IN ASIAN TRAFFIC


Finnair's Asian traffic, measured in passenger kilometers, grew 26.0%. Number of
passengers carried on Finnair's Asian flights in January was 103 400, which is  
19.9% more than a year ago. Finnair scheduled traffic altogether increased by   
17.2% compared to January last year. Passenger load factor in scheduled traffic 
was 66.4%, which is 1.0 percentage points lower than in January of the previous 
year. Number of passengers carried was 522 859, which is 1.7% more than a year  
ago.                                                                            

Finnair's Tallinn-based subsidiary Aero AS ended operations on 6 January 2008.  
Aero figures are respectively included in Finnair Group total figures. In July  
2007 Finnair sold its Stockholm-based subsidiary airline FlyNordic and its      
traffic performance is no longer reported as part of Finnair Group statistics.  
For better comparison, equivalent figures for last year have been adjusted      
accordingly.                                                                    

Finnair traffic, measured in passenger kilometers, increased by 17.8% in        
January, while the capacity was up by 18.7%, resulting in a passenger load      
factor of 73.4% or 0.6 points lower than last year. All Finnair Group airlines  
altogether transported 630 600 passengers, which is 4.3% more than a year ago.  

Arrival punctuality of scheduled flights was 70.3%, 2.3 points lower than in    
January 2006. Including leisure flights arrival punctuality was 67.4% (-3.3     
p.p).                                                                           

Scheduled traffic                                                               
In scheduled traffic (international + domestic) revenue passenger kilometres    
increased by 17.2%. The change in capacity was 18.9%. Passenger load factor was 
66.4%, 1.0 percentage points lower than last year.                              

In scheduled international traffic, total number of passengers was up by 10.8%. 
Capacity in ASKs increased 21.9%, while RPKs increased by 19.5%.                

In European scheduled traffic, ASKs increased by 16.2%, and as RPKs increased by
10.6%, the passenger load factor was 55.9%, down -2.9 points from previous year.

In North Atlantic scheduled traffic, capacity increased by 0.5%. Change in RPKs 
was 3.4%, and passenger load factor for January was 79.4%, 2.2 points higher    
than previous year.                                                             

In Asian scheduled traffic, capacity increase was 28.0%. The passenger traffic  
was up by 26.0%. Passenger load factor was 73.5%, -1.1 percentage points down.  

Domestic scheduled traffic decreased by 9.4% on a capacity decrease of 9.4%.    
Passenger load factor increased by 0.0 percentage points to 55.3%.              

Leisure traffic                                                                 

ASKs for leisure traffic increased in January by 18.3%, and RPKs increased by   
19.0%, resulting in a passenger load factor of 94.4%, 0.6 points higher than    
last year.                                                                      

Cargo                                                                           

Cargo traffic increased by 15.6% in terms of cargo tonnes carried. Growth in    
scheduled traffic was 22.2%. Increase in Asian traffic was 34.2%. Volume in     
European traffic increased by 9.2%. In North-Atlantic traffic cargo volume      
decreased by 3.6%. Cargo traffic carried on chartered cargo flights decreased by
50.4%. The cargo load factor in the Far Eastern traffic was 61.9% and in the    
North Atlantic traffic 71.1%.

kilometres.                                                                     
Overall load factor: Share of revenue tonne kilometres of available tonne       
kilometres.
