Marimekko - Company Announcement

ADVANCE INFORMATION ABOUT MARIMEKKO’S 2012 EARNINGS – NET SALES GREW BY 14%, OPERATING PROFIT WEAKER THAN ANTICIPATED

Marimekko Corporation, Stock exchange release, 24 January 2013 at 2:25 p.m.

According to preliminary financial figures, the Marimekko Group's net sales in
2012 were about EUR 88.5 million (77.4) and operating profit was approximately
EUR 2.0 million (3.5). The figures are non-audited.

In its interim report published on 30 October 2012, Marimekko estimated that
the Group's net sales for the whole year would grow by over 10%. On 12 December
2012, the company announced in its stock exchange release that it had revised
its estimate of operating profit for 2012. Operating profit was then forecast
to be approximately at the same level as in 2011. According to preliminary
financial figures, the Group's net sales for 2012 grew by 14%, but operating
profit fell short of the estimate given by the company in December. Operating
profit was weakened by slightly lower-than-expected retail sales margin in
Finland during the last few weeks of the year, the postponement of some
significant wholesale orders to 2013, higher-than-anticipated costs caused by
internationalisation, turn-of-the-year cost periodisation differences, as well
as changes in exchange rates resulting from the strengthening of the euro.

Marimekko Corporation's Financial Statements Bulletin for 2012, including the
outlook for 2013, will be published on Thursday, 31 January 2013 at 8:30 a.m.
as announced earlier.
