Tieto announces change of President and CEO

Tieto's Board of Directors and Hannu Syrjälä, President and CEO, have jointly
agreed that Syrjälä will leave his position as President and CEO as of today.
The reason for the change is Tieto's unsatisfactory financial and operational
development. 

Ari Karppinen (born 1957), Executive Vice President, Managed Services and
Transformation in Tieto, has been appointed acting President and CEO as of 28
April. The Board of Directors has already initiated a process for recruiting
the new President and CEO. 

“Under Hannu Syrjälä's leadership Tieto started a major transformation three
years ago. During this period, Tieto has transformed from a decentralized
company into an integrated business model. The Board extends its gratitude to
Hannu Syrjälä for his commitment to drive change and develop the company,” says
