SAMPO'S INTERIM REPORT WILL BE PUBLISHED ON 4 NOVEMBER 2009                     

Sampo Group will publish Interim Report for January-September 2009 on 4 November
2009 between 9:30 am and 10:00 am. The Interim Report and additional financial  
material will be available on the Internet at www.sampo.com/ir.                 

Sampo will arrange an English-language telephone conference for investors and   
analysts the same day at 4:00 pm Finnish time (2:00 pm UK time). Group CEO and
