Innofactor has been selected for delivering a situational information system for the Metro’s total security

Innofactor Plc Stock Exchange Release November 26, 2015, at 15:30 Finnish time

Helsinki City Transport selected Innofactor as the provider of the system that
provides situational information on the Metro’s total security. The purchase
price (excluding VAT) given by the customer of the procurement for the four
year contract period is EUR 2,909,500. The system delivery is planned to be
implemented during 2016 and 2017. The delivery includes the planning,
realization and implementation of the system, operating, support and
maintenance services for it, plus further development of the system. The
framework arrangement to be established will be valid at the most for 15 years
and the total value of overall contract period, given by Innofactor Software in
accordance with the tender, will be EUR 7,025,500.

The purpose of the system is to improve control of complex situations that are
critical as regards security. The situational information system is to fulfill
the authorities’ requirements concerning the control of situational
information. Situational information received from devices and hardware can be
used to form a general view and to recognize threats to security. The system
will also make it possible to train for efficient and correct actions in
extreme special situations. The solution will be implemented as customized
software by using the latest and best known implementation technologies offered
by Microsoft ASP.Net. The selected technology will ensure the
cost-effectiveness of the system during the development and maintenance, and a
long lifespan of the system. The deal strengthens Innofactor's position in
furthering the digitizing of the public sector and in providing systems that
improve security and in the field of IoT (Internet of Things).

The Metro of Helsinki City Transport takes care of the metro traffic. Almost 65
million people are transported annually, and the Metro connects the center of
Helsinki and the eastern parts of the city. The Helsinki Metro will experience
the biggest changes in its history since the traffic started in 1982 as it
expands to Espoo by means of the West Metro. This change will set great
challenges to the people responsible for Metro security. In a short time, a
totally new and different extension of the metro line and new systems affecting
the security will be added under their control. The need for uniform
situational information and operation are emphasized as the Metro is expanded
and new actors are participating in the operation. The purpose of the
situational information system for total security is to support the control and
management of the total security of the metro traffic, so that current and
future traffic will be safe.

The decision will be enforceable after the appeal period according to the law
on public procurement has ended. The City board has also still the right to
refer the matter for consideration according to the local government Act.
