Ruukki Group Oyj - Major shareholder announcements

ANNOUNCEMENT PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 2, SECTION 10 OF THE SECURITIES MARKET ACT

Ruukki Group Plc, Stock Exchange Announcement, 3 June 2008 at 9:15 a.m.         

Ruukki Group Plc has received an announcement pursuant to Securities Market Act 
chapter 2, section 9 regarding a change in shareholding.                        

Nordea Bank AB (publ) (Swedish registration number 516406-0120) refers to its   
announcement on 21 May 2008 related to a change in ownership. In that           
announcement it was informed that when forward agreements expire in May 2008    
Nordea Bank Finland Plc's (business ID 1680235-8), the Finnish subsidiary of    
Nordea Bank AB (publ), holdings in Ruukki Group Plc will fall below one fifth   
(1/5) of the share capital and voting rights.                                   

Nordea Bank Finland Plc now announces that on Friday 30 May 2008 51,151 forward 
agreements have expired and Nordea Bank Finland Plc has sold 5,115,100 Ruukki   
Group Plc shares. Nordea Bank Finland Plc now holds 59,742,862 Ruukki Group Plc 
shares i.e. its ownership is over 1/5 and is 20.60 % of the share capital and   
voting rights of Ruukki Group Plc.                                              

As a result of the share sale of Nordea Bank Finland Plc, the total ownership of
Nordea Group is 1/5 i.e. 20.60 % (59,743,789 shares) of the share capital and   
voting rights of Ruukki Group Plc.                                              

Nordea Bank Finland Plc has also sold forward contracts of which 199,100   
(19,910,000 shares) will expire in June 2008, 87,742 (8,774,200 shares) will    
expire in December 2008 and 310,553 (31,055,300 shares) will expire in January  
2009. As the June 2008 forward contracts expire, the ownership of Nordea Bank   
Finland Plc and Nordea Group will fall below 3/20 and as the January 2009       
forward contracts expire, below 1/20 of the share capital and voting rights of  
Ruukki Group Plc.                                                               

Nordea Bank Finland Plc has purchased Ruukki Group shares as a part of its      
market making operations.                                                       

Ruukki Group Plc's registered number of shares is 290,034,022 shares and share  
capital is EUR 23,642,049.60.
