Sanoma appoints Arthur Hoffman as CEO Sanoma Digital

Sanoma has appointed Arthur Hoffman as the CEO of Sanoma Digital and member of
Sanoma's Executive Management Group (EMG). 

Arthur Hoffman (Dutch, 1969) joins Sanoma from Expedia, the leading global
online travel agency where he, in his most recent role as President of
Expedia's Affiliate Network, is managing a worldwide B2B business, and forms
part of Expedia's global executive team. Hoffman has been active in digital
media from the outset 16 years ago. At first through managing incubators and
advising clients on digital strategies as a consultant with Booz & Company and
Arthur Andersen, before switching to general management at Qantas, the
Australian multinational travel company, where he led their strategic and
technological transformation to become a more e-commerce adapted company. 

About ten years ago he moved to Expedia, a pure play internet company and
global leader in online travel. He covered several roles, both on the B2B as
well as consumer side across Asia Pacific and Europe. He built up experience in
launching new businesses from the ground up, turning around struggling assets,
as well as leading large, global teams to deliver strong financial performance
over many years. It also allowed him to develop a deep expertise in core
digital competencies such as technology and product development, on- and
offline marketing, mobile, customer operations, user experience etc. Arthur
holds an MBA from INSEAD and a Master's Degree in Chemistry from the University
of Utrecht, Netherlands. "I am extremely pleased that Arthur Hoffman is joining Sanoma at this key point

found a very experienced leader with a proven track record to make it happen."

Arthur Hoffman will join Sanoma on 25 August 2014. During the coming months,
Sander ten Dam will continue to lead Sanoma Digital on an interim basis. 

Sanoma Digital manages Sanoma's pure play digital media portfolio. The company
is the biggest local digital media company in Finland and the Netherlands and
is executing an internationalisation strategy for selected assets. Sanoma
Digital employs around 500 employees.
