Ruukki Group Plc, Stock Exchange Release, 15 August 2008 at 1:02 p.m.          
Ruukki Group Plc has received an announcement pursuant to Securities Market Act 
chapter 2, section 9 regarding a change in shareholding.                        

JPMorgan Chase & Co. (register number 13-2624428, New York) announces that the
total ownership of its subsidiaries JPMorgan Asset Management (UK) Limited,
J.P. Morgan Investment Management Inc., J.P. Morgan Securities Ltd. and J.P.
Morgan Whitefriars Inc. has fallen below one tenth (1/10) of the share capital
and voting rights of Ruukki Group Plc as a result of transactions carried out
on 13 August 2008. 

JPMorgan Chase & Co. now holds altogether 28,860,633 Ruukki Group Plc shares    
i.e. 9.95 % of the share capital and voting rights of Ruukki Group Plc.         

Ruukki Group Plc's registered number of shares is 290,034,022 shares and share  
capital is EUR 23,642,049.60.
