Benchmark Issue of EUR 750 million from Pohjola                                 

On 22 May 2009, Pohjola Bank plc will issue under its EMTN programme a EUR      
750-million bond with a maturity of five years in international capital markets.
This fixed-rate bond has a coupon of 4.50%, i.e. the return equals around 190   
basis points above 5-year mid-swap. CALYON Crédit Agricole CIB, Citi, Credit    
Suisse, DZ BANK AG and Pohjola Bank plc will act as joint lead managers and the 
issue will be listed on the London Stock Exchange.
