MARIMEKKO'S PRESIDENT AND CEO MIKA IHAMUOTILA TAKES SICK LEAVE IN FEBRUARY

Marimekko Corporation's President and CEO Mika Ihamuotila will undergo a minor
repeat neurosurgical procedure at the beginning of February 2011. He will be on
sick leave for approximately 4-6 weeks after the operation. During his leave of
absence, the duties of president will be taken over by the company's CFO Thomas
Ekström.
