Kesko's sales increased in July

Kesko Group's sales in July 2016 totalled €893.3 million and were up 14.8%. In
comparable terms, sales decreased by 6.0% in local currencies, excluding the
impact of Suomen Lähikauppa and Onninen. There were two selling less days than
in the previous year.

"In July, Kesko's sales increased due to acquisitions. The sales performance in
Finland was weakened by the fact that there were two delivery days less than in
the previous year," says Kesko's President and CEO Mikko Helander.

The sales of Kesko's grocery trade in July were €447.2 million and increased by
11.0%. Suomen Lähikauppa excluded, the sales of the grocery trade were €376.5
million, representing a comparable change of -6.2%.

The sales of the building and technical trade in July were €390.1 million, up
25.6%. Excluding Onninen, the sales of the building and technical trade were
€289.7 million, down 4.3% in local currencies. In Finland, excluding Onninen,
sales were down by 10.7%, but the market position continued to strengthen.
Outside Finland, excluding Onninen, sales increased by 1.3% in local currencies.
The sales of the building and home improvement trade decreased by 2.2% in local
currencies. The sales of the leisure trade decreased by 14.7% in Finland and the
sales of the agricultural and machinery trade were down by 4.9%.

The  sales of  the car  trade in  July were  €56.2 million,  down 10.8% from the
previous year.

Change, %, indicates the change compared to the corresponding period of the
previous year. Comparable change, %, indicates the change compared to the
corresponding period of the previous year in local currencies and excluding the
impact of acquisitions and disposals.

In July 2016, the number of selling days in Kesko's wholesale in Finland was
21, which was two less than in the previous year. The total number of selling
days in January-July was the same as in the previous year.
