HF Eimskipafelag Islands files for composition

HF Eimskipafelag Islands today filed for composition at the Reykjavik Municipal
Court. Plans to do so were introduced at the company's AGM yesterday, June 30th
2009. 

The Company also requested this morning to Nasdaq OMX Iceland that its stocks
and bonds be removed from business at the Nasdaq OMX Iceland Stock Exchange.
Eimskip's stockholders are today 20.000 in total.
