UAB Omnitel recognised the winner of radio frequencies auction arranged by the Communications Regulatory Authority

On 27 January 2016, during the meeting of Auction Commission UAB Omnitel, a
subsidiary of TEO LT, AB, was recognised the winner of radio frequencies block
bundle No. C1 at Communications Regulatory Authority auction for the right to
use radio frequencies (channels) from paired radio frequencies bandwidth of
880–915 MHz and 925–960 MHz, and paired radio frequencies bandwidth of
1710–1785 MHz and 1805–1880 MHz.

Omnitel offered the highest price (EUR 14.3 million) for this radio frequencies
block bundle and got the priority right to choose the preferred A and B
category radio frequencies block.

At the meeting of Auction Commission on 27 January 2016 Omnitel expressed its
will to choose A2 (i.e. radio frequencies from paired radio frequencies
bandwidth of 891.7–903.3 MHz and 936.7–948.3 MHz) and B2 (i.e. radio
frequencies from paired radio frequencies bandwidth of 1735–1760 MHz and
1830–1855 MHz) radio frequencies blocks.

The chosen frequencies blocks will ensure high 2G, 3G and 4G network capacity
and maximum coverage of Lithuania’s territory, including and state border areas
as the chosen frequencies blocks have the biggest number of priority frequency
channels harmonized with the neighboring countries. Those channels also have
the least limitations compared with the other frequencies blocks.
