SAMPO'S INTERIM REPORT WILL BE PUBLISHED ON 13 AUGUST 2008                      

Sampo Group will publish Interim Report for January - June 2008 before the      
opening of OMX Nordic Exchange Helsinki in the morning of 13 August 2008. The   
Interim Report, webcast presentation of CEO's review and additional financial   
material will be available on the Internet at www.sampo.com/ir.                 

Sampo will arrange a press conference on 13 August 2008 at 1 pm at Savoy        
(Eteläesplanadi 14). An English-language telephone conference for
