Baltic Power Systems with the UCTE (Union for the Co-ordination of Transmission
of Electricity) was approved on March 20, 2008. The study contains the
assessment of various technical, economic, financial and organisational
conditions, analysis of the existing situation, modelling of possible systems
interconnection scenarios for their synchronous operation. The study also

infrastructure development projects would total approx. EUR 2.5billion.
Totally, at least three 400kV interconnecting lines between the Baltic Power
Systems and the UCTE have to be constructed. The pre-feasibility study was
prepared by the transmission system operators: Lietuvos energija,
Augstsprieguma Tikls (Latvia), Pohivork (Estonia), PSE-Operator (Poland).
