ANNOUNCEMENT PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 2, SECTION 10 OF THE SECURITIES MARKET ACT

Ruukki Group Plc has received the following announcement pursuant to Securities 
Market Act regarding a change in shareholding:                                  

Moncheur & Cie SA (registration number 660.0.096.997-7, Geneva) announces that  
as a result of share transactions concluded on 21 January 2008, the ownership of
Moncheur & Cie SA in Ruukki Group Plc now exceeds one twentieth (1/20) of the   
share capital and voting rights of Ruukki Group Plc.                            

Moncheur & Cie SA now holds 15,908,568 shares which represents approximately
5.49 % of the share capital and voting rights of Ruukki Group Plc. 

Ruukki Group Plc's registered number of shares is 290,034,022 and share capital 
is 23,642,049.60 euros.
