FINNAIR TECHNICAL SERVICES STABILISATION AGREEMENT SAFEGUARDS JOBS

FINNAIR PLC STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE	6 AUGUST 2009 4.19pm
Finnair Technical Services has reached a stabilisation agreement by which
around 14 million euros of savings in personnel costs will be achieved within
the unit by the end of 2010. All of the unit's 1,600 employees, represented by
five different personnel organisations, will participate in the agreement. The
agreement is part of a previously announced 100 million euro efficiency
programme, of which a savings target of 70 million euros is directed at
personnel costs.
Thanks to the stabilisation agreement, Finnair Technical Services has been able
to agree on the maintenance and modification services for Boeing 757 aircraft
of an external customer. The maintenance agreement covers 2009-2012.
“The stabilisation agreement will improve the competitiveness of Finnair
Technical Services, giving us the opportunity to develop our operations and
increase the volume of work outside the Finnair Group - profitably and on
market terms,” says Kimmo Soini, Senior Vice President of Finnair Technical
Services.
The stabilisation agreement includes various flexibilities relating to working
practices and working hours, enabling personnel resources to be allocated
better than before. The agreement includes a performance-related bonus model
for the entire personnel of Finnair Technical Services for the period
2010-2013.
