ANNOUNCEMENT PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 2, SECTION 10 OF THE SECURITIES MARKET ACT

Ruukki Group Plc, Stock Exchange Release, 30 October 2008 at 6:55 p.m.          

Ruukki Group Plc has today received an announcement pursuant to Securities      
Market Act chapter 2, section 9 regarding a change in shareholding:             

Bassanio Services Limited (register ID 1469894, Tortola, British Virgin Islands)
and Alwyn Smit announce about arrangements which may result in the acquisition  
of Ruukki Group Plc shares.                                                     

Bassanio Services Limited and Alwyn Smit announce that their combined potential 
future ownership has on 28 October 2008 exceeded 5 % of the share capital and   
voting rights of Ruukki Group Plc based on the option rights given to Alwyn Smit
by the decision of Ruukki Group Plc's Extraordinary General Meeting.            

Bassanio Services Limited and Alwyn Smit now own Ruukki Group Plc shares as
