2, Section 9 of the Finnish Securities Market Act)

Talvivaara  Mining  Company  Plc  ("Talvivaara")  has  received   the
attached flagging notification in accordance with Chapter 2,  Section
9 of the Finnish Securities Market Act from BlackRock, Inc. regarding
the shares of Talvivaara on 04 December 2009.

The holding of BlackRock, Inc. in Talvivaara has increased, through a
business acquisition, to  14,722,922 ordinary  shares of  Talvivaara,
representing in aggregate 6.01% percent of the issued ordinary  share
capital and  total voting  rights attached  to shares  in  Talvivaara
(over 5%).
