Botnia's pulp mill in Uruguay will start-up when permit procedure is finalised

Botnia's pulp mill in Uruguay is technically nearly completed. The start-up     
process of the mill will commence as soon as the permit procedure is finalised  
and Uruguayan authorities give their permission.                                

Originally the start-up was scheduled to take place during the third quarter of 
2007. The timing of the start-up will not have material impact on UPM's         
financial results for 2007. Botnia is UPM's associated company.
