Ruukki Group Oyj - Major shareholder announcements

ANNOUNCEMENT PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 2, SECTION 10 OF THE SECURITIES MARKET ACT

Ruukki Group Plc has received announcement pursuant to the Securities Market Act
regarding a change in shareholding.                                             

As a result of the share issue and related subscription decisions concluded on  
June 21, 2007, the combined holdings of Helsingin Mekaanikontalo Oy (trade      
register number 1076761-9) and Procomex S.A. (company register number R.C.      
Luxembourg B 57.877) now represent less than one-fourth (1/4) of the share      
capital and voting rights in Ruukki Group Oyj.                                  

Simultaneously, Helsingin Mekaanikontalo Oy notifies that its holdings now      
represent less than one-tenth (1/10) of the share capital and voting rights in  
Ruukki Group Oyj.

Proportions of share capital and voting rights are calculated taking into       
account the decision by the board of Ruukki Group Oyj to issue 130,000,000      
shares made on June 21, 2007 and assuming, that the additional share issuance of
19,500,000 shares decided by the board of Ruukki Group is concluded in full.    

Ruukki Group Plc's registered number of shares is 140,234,022 and share capital 
is 23,642,049.60 euros.
