PROPOSAL FOR THE MEMBERS OF RUUKKI GROUP'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS


Ruukki Group Plc, Stock Exchange Release, 28 March at 8:55 am.                  
Certain Ruukki Group Plc's shareholders have informed that they will propose to 
the Annual General Meeting convening on 31 March 2008 that the number of members
in the Board of Directors is seven (7). According to the proposal Markku        
Kankaala, Matti Lainema, Timo Poranen and Ahti Vilppula are to be re-elected and
Danko Koncar, Konstantin Ryzhkov and Alwyn Smit are to be elected as new Board  
members. The proposed candidates have given their consents to the election.

Ruukki Group's strategic aim is to concentrate on wood processing within the    
Northern coniferous wood zone. Group business operations will be focused on     
mechanical wood processing, and furthermore on pulp business. Ruukki Group Plc's
