Conversion of Pohjola Bank Series K shares into Series A shares                 

A total of 401,060 Pohjola Bank Series K shares owned by the cooperative banks  
have been converted into Series A shares. The conversions were entered in the   
Trade Register on 25 June 2009.                                                 

The number of Series K shares fell from 68,807,785 to 68,406,725, and the number
of Series A shares listed on NASDAQ OMX Helsinki grew from 250,743,630 to       
251,144,690. The conversions do not affect the total number of shares, which is 
319,551,415. Following the conversion, the shares correspond to 593,178,315     
votes.                                                                          

Trading in the now converted Series A shares will commence on NASDAQ OMX        
Helsinki on 26 June 2009.
