Regarding the amended Law on Nuclear Power Plant of the Republic of Lithuania

The Press Service of the President of the Republic reports that President of
the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė signed the Law Amending and
Supplementing the Law on Nuclear Power Plant on 30 July 2009. President
Grybauskaitė emphasised signing the Law Amending and Supplementing the Law on
Nuclear Power Plant as it provided for the obligation for the Government to
liquidate the company LEO LT and annul the transaction. Moreover, the state
will be able to make favourable decisions without obtaining a consent from a
private partner. The Head of State claims having been assured by Minister of
Energy Mr. Sekmokas that a meeting of LEO LT shareholders to address the issue
of company liquidation has been scheduled for early September.
