LÄNNEN TEHTAAT PLC TO PURCHASE COMPANY´S OWN SHARES

Under the authorization granted by the Annual General Meeting on 2 April 2008,
the Board of Directors of Lännen Tehtaat plc has decided to purchase a maximum
total of 65,000 Lännen Tehtaat plc own shares using unrestricted equity. 

The Company´s own shares will not be purchased in relation to the shareholdings
of the existing shareholders. They will be purchased at the market price of the
purchasing moment on the OMX Nordic Exchange Helsinki. 

The shares will be purchased for the purpose of developing the company's
capital structure, financing or implementing corporate acquisitions or other
arrangements, implementing share-based incentive systems, or for onward
transfer or annulment. 

The purchases of the shares will start on 19 May 2008 at the earliest and will
end no later than 29 August 2008. 

The company currently holds 65,000 own shares.
