HARRY OLLILA TO LEAD KONECRANES' NEW MARKET OPERATIONS FUNCTION                 

Konecranes Group is strengthening its sales management structure with the       
establishment of a Market Operations function. Harry Ollila has been appointed  
in charge of the new function. He will continue in Konecranes' Group Executive  
Board and will report to CEO Pekka Lundmark. Market Operations is responsible   
for sales management and sales support, global account management, and          
development of solution marketing. Konecranes' regional organizations will      
report to Harry Ollila. Mr. Ollila has been working for Konecranes since 1991,  
he is currently President, Northeast Asia. The new organization will take effect
September 1, 2009. The external reporting of the geographical regions will      
remain unchanged.                                                               

In the same conjunction, on September 1, 2009, Konecranes will shift to a       
two-tiered management structure consisting of the Group Executive Board and     
Extended Management Team. The Group Executive Board members are: Pekka Lundmark,
President and CEO, and Chairman of the Group Executive Board; Hannu Rusanen,    
Service; Mikko Uhari, Equipment; Harry Ollila, Market Operations; Teo Ottola,   
Chief Financial Officer; Pekka Lettijeff, Procurement; and Ari Kiviniitty,      
Technology.                                                                     

In addition to the Group Executive Board members, the members of Extended       
Management Team include the Presidents of the regional organizations, Director, 
General Counsel; Director, Talent Management and Director, Marketing and        
Communications.
