CHANGES IN SSH COMMUNICATIONS SECURITY'S BOARD AND MANAGEMENT

Helsinki, 2013-07-05 10:15 CEST (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- 

SSH Communications Security has appointed MSc (Eng.) Sami Ahvenniemi [41 years]
to a member of the Group Management Team responsible for operations in the
North and South America from August 12th 2013. 

Earlier Ahvenniemi has been co-founder and shareholder of Conor Venture
Partners responsible for several investments in early phase technology
companies and a board member in many companies expanding operations from Europe
to USA. Between years 1998 - 2002 Ahvenniemi worked for SSH Communications
Security where he was responsible among others for establishing the Company´s
operations in the USA and sales in the North and South America. 

Ahvenniemi has been a member of the Board of Directors of SSH Communications
Security since March 2012 and the chairman from March 2013. Due to the
nomination to SSH Communications Security Group Management Team, Ahvenniemi
will change to be a member of the Board.  The Chairman of the Board of
Directors of SSH Communications Security Oyj will be Päivi Hautamäki from
August 1st 2013 onwards.  Päivi Hautamäki was the Chairman of the Board from
March 2012 to March 2013 and afterwards a member of the Board. 

Due to the change, SSH Communications Security deviates from recommendation 14
of Finnish Corporate Governance Code - number of independent directors.
Deviation is due to both ownership structure of the company and the importance
of the US market and operations for the company at this stage.
