Pohjola Bank Plc's New Reporting Procedures

Pohjola Bank Plc's New Reporting Procedures                                     

In May, Pohjola Bank Group adopted a new organisational structure, currently    
comprising three business segments instead of the previous two - Banking        
Services, Asset Management and Non-life Insurance - and Group Functions. The    
Group will also change its financial reporting to be in line with the new       
structure as of the beginning of the second quarter of 2008.                    

Banking Services consists of the following business divisions: Corporate        
Banking, Markets and Baltic Banking Services. Asset Management is currently     
reported as a single business segment. The Non-life Insurance business segment  
will remain unchanged, with Private Customers, Corporate Customers and Baltic   
Insurance Operations representing its business divisions. The Group functions   
comprise Finance, Risk Management, Corporate Communications and HR Services.    

Pohjola Bank Group's comparatives for the four quarters of 2007 and the first   
quarter of 2008, based on the new segment reporting presentation, can be found  
under Company Releases at www.pohjola.fi.                                       

The new segment reporting will have no effect on Pohjola Bank Group's reported  
figures and financial targets. The Group will publish its financial targets     
based on the new segments in the autumn of 2008.
