Iceland prepays Securities


On 15 April 2011, the Republic of Iceland offered to purchase at par any or all
of the securities maturing in 2011 and 2012. Iceland is pleased to announce
that it has accepted for purchase an aggregate principal amount of €302,870,000
of securities maturing in 2011 and €43,456,000 of securities maturing in 2012.
The total aggregate principal amount of the securities accepted for purchase is
€346,326,000. Repurchasing these securities confirms Iceland's commitment to
provide liquidity to those holders participating in the invitation and is sound
debt and liquidity management for Iceland. Following this repurchase, Iceland
now has approximately €454 million outstanding bonds due for redemption in 2011
and 2012, of compared to the originally issued amount of €1,250 million.
